Grand Hotel Cravat
The hotel is located on the edge of Luxembourg's Old Town, 100 metres from the Cathedral and just over a kilometre north of the main train station.

Grand Hotel Cravat
The Grand Hotel Cravat is a traditional property, which dates from the 1930s and is situated in the city centre, overlooking Vallée de la Pétrusse. Both the public areas and the 60 guestrooms are appointed in a traditional style. All rooms are equipped with bath/shower, direct dial telephone, television, cable/satellite channels, radio, WIFI, fax and modem plugs and mini bar. Baby cots are also available. Rooms on the 1st and 5th floors are non-smoking. Guests can enjoy a pleasant drink in the "Le Trianon" Bar, while “La Taverne” Brasserie boasts an atmosphere reminiscent of the 1960s and serves both French and local cuisine. On the first floor, there’s also “Le Normandy,” a gastronomic restaurant designed to recall the former French ocean liner of the same name.

I stayed here for one week and all-in-all found the hotel reasonably good value. That said, my room was rather disappointing, as it had no view whatsoever, with the only window in the room opening onto an uninspiring walled shaft. I could not fault the service though, and would not hesitate to compliment all of the hotel's staff on their attentiveness.
Oh yes, one final gripe. For a hotel boasting a four-star rating, some basic coffee/tea making facilities would not go amiss.

The hotel was full so we were stuck in a cramped room overlooking an airshaft to the kitchen, not the nice views suggested in the brochure. It is worth making sure of your room before departure, even if it costs more for an upgrade.
